All the Haikus below are untitled:
The brisk air chills me.
It’s all dead, yet they’re happy-
The children’s laughter.
These darkest secrets,
They are best kept locked away now.
The birds will hear you.
Drowning in the pond,
The grand tortoise spoke to me.
He said nothing’s real.
Untitled Sonnet:
One night I traveled through the wood,
Only to come across a napping bear
About joining him, I asked if I could,
Yet he only flicked an ear
I repeated myself, several times I assure
Until suddenly he began to rouse
With nuts and berries, his tastes I tried to allure
Sweet water for his thirst in need of douse
He rolled over onto his great back
Rubbed his brown belly with his claw
Peeped an eye open for his next snack
An stretched his massive jaw
My stomach dropped and my hopes turned to fear suddenly
When he got on all four paws and I realized that next snack was me
Untitled:
I will tinker with your tangled basket
While you tip toe towards today from tomorrow
Twice assured, twice denied, tightening your threatened tie
The torrential tantrums grieving the ticking trust thrust into thunderstorms
Only to be trapped in the tide, tossed and lost and trampled
The turbulence is deafening tremendously now
Emerging knowing time is trite after all
